Wedding Video Update

I just delivered my latest wedding video to Lance and Emily, a great couple who I had the honor of working with last month in St. Louis. Their wedding was beautiful and I was super happy with how the finished video came out. Very cinematic, very emotional... All that good stuff. Anyway, here's the response I got back from Emily after they had a chance to watch the video. I love to hear feedback like this!

Robert,

We received the DVDs, and I love it!!!! Its exactly what I was hoping for, thanks for your hard work. If you need to use our DVD as an example, go for it. Also, please use Lance and I as a reference for your future business. Thanks again!

Music Video Weekend

Busy event video weekend here at Digital Headquarters, and the theme of the weekend is music. I had the pleasure of shooting a Caleb Rowden concert last evening at Christian Chapel Auditorium here in Columbia, MO. Caleb is a very accomplished singer/songwriter and put on a great show last night. Very cool to be a part of. Here's a link if you want to find out more about Caleb and his music.

Caleb Rowden - Download Five New Songs FREE!

Tomorrow, I've got a shoot lined out at the Blue Note, Columbia's premiere live music venue. I'm working in conjunction with a production company out of Toronto, Ontario called The Hive. We are interviewing and covering an exclusive concert, so needless to say, this is another project I'm very happy to be a part of. Stay tuned to the blog for more details!

When you say you love me...

Here's a clip from one of my latest finished wedding videos. I thought everything came together really well with this first dance. It's cinematic, emotional, and dramatic....all things I strive for with my wedding videography. Anyway, without further ado: Harry & Lindsey's First Dance.

Latest wedding highlights...

Had a few minutes, so I pulled a couple stills from the wedding video I just finished editing. Beautiful wedding and the reception at the Fulton Country Club was absolutely stunning! The video came together really nice; definitely one of my favorites of the year.

Listen Up!

Headed to Kahoka, MO last month to shoot a music festival called Listen Up. If you're not familiar with Kahoka, it's the farthest northeastern point you can go to in Missouri, and it also happens to be my hometown. Anyway, the music was great, and it was a really diverse group of bands. Plus, I got to do some really cool video coverage with a combination of HD, SD, and Super 8 cameras. Yes, I mean Super 8, as in the home movie format introduced in 1965. Should make for an interesting concert film....

Above is a shot of Derek and I during a filming break. We represented about 1/3 of the film crew, so an additional shout-out goes to Cody, Dave, Chris, and Buck for helping me document the event. The concert film is next on my editing docket, so stay tuned for some video highlights from the night...

Bride Testimonial!

I just delivered my latest finished wedding video to Kelli and Curt, a couple whose wedding I shot last month. After watching it, Kelli sent me a short note and was gracious enough to let me put her response on the blog. These are the kind of responses I love to get back! It's great knowing that I'm able to help a couple relive their special day again and again. Anyway, enough rambling by me... Here's Kelli's note:

Robert,
We popped the DVD in as soon as we got it in the mail today! WE LOVED IT!!! You picked great music, and we really enjoyed watching everything we didn't notice on our wedding day. You did a wonderful job editing it; you captured some awesome moments and details of the day! I could not stop saying how much I am going to love watching it when I get a little older too.
Thank you so so much!

Latest Wedding Shoot!

I've been busy finishing up a couple projects, so I'm just now getting a chance to update the blog with a couple stills from my last wedding shoot. It was a beautiful Columbia wedding that started at First Presbyterian Church downtown and later moved to Holiday Inn for the reception and dance. The Holiday Inn staff did a fabulous job decking out the ballroom, and I got a chance to work with a couple great wedding vendors for the first time, Bill with Music Express DJ Service and Lindell with Rambling Creek Images. Thanks to Curt and Kelli for letting me be a part of their special day! Signing off for now, back to editing...

Downtown Video Shoot

Last weekend, I produced a video for Missouri United Methodist Church here in Columbia. It's such a beautiful church, and their stained glass is magnificent! Really worth checking out. Anyway, Derek and I had a chance to snap a shot when we finished packing up our gear. (Can't beat 9th Street for a backdrop...) Wedding shoot next weekend, so stay tuned. Thanks for visiting!

Wedding season is underway!

I had a great wedding shoot last weekend that started at the beautiful Winston Churchill Memorial in Fulton and ended on the banks of the Missouri River, courtesy of Les Bourgeois Winery. Katy and Mark were a great couple to work with, and I got a chance to work with some great wedding vendors as well! Taking care of the photography for the day was Jennifer from Moonshadow Studios here in Columbia, MO. Check out some more of her great work over at her website, www.moonshadowstudio.com. The man providing the great soundtrack for the evening was Victor "Huggie Bear" Huggins. He's the audio maestro behind HB Sounds. For more info on his DJ service, check out www.hbsounds.com. Here's a few stills I pulled from the video, hope you enjoy!

Pomp, Circumstance, and Digital HQ...

Busy week here at Digital Headquarters. I had two graduation shoots at Christian Chapel Academy here in Columbia MO, so now I'm settling down in the editing suite. They were both very nice ceremonies, and I believe congratulations are in order for the recent grads. Here's a couple stills from the two shoots.

New Photos...

Headed to Northeast Missouri last week to visit with family over Easter. I didn't have any of my higher quality cameras with me on the trip, but I came across some great photo opportunities that I couldn't pass up, so I grabbed my cheap, low resolution "point and shoot" and snapped a few shots. This was all totally verite' style, no lighting or placement or anything, but I thought some of the shots turned out visually pretty interesting. Rural Missouri on Easter Sunday, 2010....Hope you enjoy.

Back to video production next week with a spring concert shoot at Christian Chapel Academy. Stay tuned!

Wedding Season is approaching quickly!

Working on a new wedding promo recently and ran across this picture. It's from a wedding I shot in Salisbury, MO last Fall. Thought it turned out nice. Stay tuned; new projects on the horizon!

Great Wedding Directories

Typically, from January to March is the busiest time for wedding planning. Since we're right smack-dab in the middle of this time frame, thought it might be helpful if I shared some great wedding directories that can really speed up the planning process for prospective brides and grooms. Obviously, my studio is listed on numerous ones, but here are two that are really set up well and ones we've gotten a good response from. That's all the news for now; we've got event video shoots coming up soon at Christian Chapel Academy in Columbia, so stay tuned for more updates!

New Video!

Here's one of my latest videos, shot and produced in December 2009. What I'm calling it is a Pure.Wedding.Cinema Engagement Session. Kind of a mouthful, I know, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. (Definitely one of my favorite videos I've produced over the years). It was shot on location at the Tiger Hotel in downtown Columbia and at "The Quad" on the University of Missouri campus. Obviously, both are really classy locations and added a nice backdrop to the video. Anyway, thanks for watching, and thanks to Adam & Justine. You guys were great to work with!

2010 Bridal Spectacular!

Headed to Jefferson City last weekend for the 2010 Bridal Spectacular Wedding Show. This was my first time attending the event, and these guys put on a great bridal show! Met a lot of great brides and did some valuable networking with other vendors as well. Thanks to Vicki and the folks at the Central Missouri Bridal Association (http://www.centralmissouribridalassociation.com/) for a successful afternoon! Wedding season is just around the corner, and this was a great way to kick off a new year.
