Happy New Year!

Ending 2011 tonight with a video shoot at Columbia, MO's own Whiskey Wild Saloon. 2000 people and a mechanical bull? Sounds like an interesting shoot to me...

Special thanks to Collin and Daylon from Media Outlook and the PumpTop Network for working with me on this project. Happy New Year everyone. Looking forward to 2012!

'Tis The Season

Christmas season is officially upon us, and I filmed my first Christmas program of the year last Friday night. The program was put on by the kids of Precious Hearts Learning Center from here in Columbia, and they did a super job! (The Grinch even made a surprise appearance...)

Next week, the Christmas fun continues at Christian Chapel Academy, also here in Columbia. This will be my fourth year producing videos for the school, and they always put on a great program!

Stay tuned...

Doc Shoot in South Carolina

We headed east last week for a very cool documentary project we're working on in South Carolina. Derek, my usual right hand man, assisted me in the shoot, and we also enlisted the help of a South Carolina local named Alex Frank. We shot for three days, and surprisingly, everything went super smooth. (Considering that I planned everything from about 1000 miles away...) Anyway, here's some production shots from the shoot.

Me setting up lights and preparing for our first interview.

Exterior shot from our second location.

Shooting at Free Times, a newspaper in downtown Columbia.

I just finished editing the corporate video I shot last week for a company out of New York City called LLM Bar Exam. The law lecture that I recorded was done locally here in Columbia at the University of Missouri Law School. The DVD's in the mail, and I'm moving on to other projects. Look for a very cool web promo I shot for Old Standard Wood to be posted on the blog very soon!

Delta Sigma Phi Dedication

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of capturing some great events at the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity house on the MU campus. These guys have put a ton of work into their new house and invited alumni, family, and friends this weekend for a house dedication. The place looks amazing!

Following the house tours and dedication, we headed over to the Alumni Center for the fraternity's luncheon and awards ceremony. A big thanks to the gentleman of Delta Sigma Phi for letting me capture their day. It was great seeing the new house, and it's always good to visit the University of Missouri campus, i.e. my old stomping grounds...

Cola-Con Video Shoot

Busy week last week here at Digital Headquarters. I booked two weddings and traveled to Columbia, South Carolina over Labor Day weekend for a really cool event called Cola-Con. It was a hip-hop and comics festival that I filmed as part of a documentary project that is now officially in the works. Great crowd, great panels, and a DJ set by Talib Kweli. Definitely a cool event to be a part of...

Wedding Video News

I recently delivered a finished wedding video to a great couple that I had the pleasure of working with earlier this summer. I love it when the bride and groom are as excited about a video as I am, so I wanted to post their response on the blog. Thanks for the great feedback, Barry and Mary!

"Hi Robert, received the DVDs yesterday- they are absolutely
superb, we are very happy to say the least! You also
captured a whole lot of stuff that the photographer missed
so we'd just like to say thank you!"

Stay tuned...

Wedding Bagpipes!

Had a great wedding shoot a few weeks ago in Indian Creek, Missouri. (It's right outside of Monroe City, for those of you wondering...) Anyway, the ceremony was great, and to top it off, the couple walked out of the church to the unique sounds of bagpipe music. Here's a clip. Enjoy!

Website Update

I've been slowly updating the Digital HQ website a bit over the last week or so. Check it out if you haven't seen it in a while. The basic setup is the same, but I added a bit of new text and quite a few new images to spruce up things a bit. Above are a couple of the new images I used. I've also been busy shifting into wedding season mode. I've got my new camera tested, set up, and ready to go. Wedding shoots in Fulton and Columbia in the next three weeks!

New Wedding Promo!

Fresh out of the editing studio, here is the latest Digital HQ Wedding Promo. It's composed entirely of weddings we shot and produced in 2010, which is a group of films I'm very proud of. (Please excuse the low resolution; I didn't want people to have to sit around and wait an hour for the video to load!) Also, I must give a shout out to Fallen Flag, a great rock band who provided the song for the promo. They've got a lot of great songs, and this one in particular fit the mood of my video quite well, I believe. Anyway, hope you enjoy!

Jack Daniels Studio No. 7 Project

Last November, I interviewed and shot a video with the band Manchester Orchestra at the Blue Note here in Columbia, MO. This project was in conjunction with The Hive, a Toronto, Canada based production company. Anyway, my video is now up and streaming on the Jack Daniels Studio No. 7 website, www.jdstudiono7.com. Check it out; there's a lot of cool artists interviewed on the page. Plus, the editing crew at The Hive did a fabulous job assembling all of the footage. If you prefer, you can also find these videos on the Jack Daniels Facebook Page. This was a very cool project to be a part of, and one we were very excited about. Signing off for now....Testing my new camera later in the week!
